OUR PREFERRED WINDOW FILM IS SCOTCHTINTTM BY 3M

Probably the most important part of a good window film is the adhesive system used by the manufacturer.  The clear adhesive used in ScotchtintTM window film is designed to protect the film (and anything behind it) from the damaging effects of ultraviolet light.  The technical department at 3M has developed a patented ahesive system which:

- is designed to cure very slowly, allowing the installer to work with the material as needed to provide the best possible installation.

- will not dry out over the normal life of the film, insuring you a distortion-free view through the window.   This also permits easy removal should the next owner prefer a different type of film.

Once the film is installed your biggest concern will be how long it will last and what warranty protects your investment.  Every installation we provide is registered with 3M headquarters and they promise the film will not crack, craze or peel throughout the warranty period or they will pay to replace it.  The length of the warranty varies according to which film type is selected.  Films which are usually used in commercial applications are warranted for five or ten years, while the films most frequently used in residential applications have a limited lifetime warranty.  The value of this warranty is not prorated so you receive the same protection after several years of service as you would after one day.  Additionally, most installations are insured against glass breakage for two years after installation.

WHY IS THERE A WARRANTY COVERING GLASS BREAKAGE?

The installation of a reflective or tinted film to glass will result in an increase in the temperature of the glass when exposed to sunlight.  If the edge of the glass was chipped or unevenly cut when it was put in it may not be able to adapt to this additional stress.  Part of our job is to recommend an appropriate film/glass combination to minimize the chances of stress fracture of the glass.

Residential window film

Since we know how to properly analyze the glass in your window, we can provide an insurance policy for those rare occasions where the glass is not able to handle the stress.

HOW MUCH WILL MY SCOTCHTINTTM INSTALLATION COST?

The final cost depends on which type of film you select, how much film is installed at once and may be affected by the condition of and access to your windows.  Previous customers have reported their ScotchtintTM installation costs much less than most custom window treatments.  When you consider that ScotchtintTM will outlast most blinds, drapes or other fabrics in sunlit windows, it provides an excellent investment in window treatments.

There are other window film manufacturers, and we can make their products available, but none can provide the life expectancy, clarity, quality or warranty found in ScotchtintTM films.
